I’m John Finnell, a collage artist working under the name Sundry Sullen for the past two decades. I live in Oceanside, CA, where I practice holistic medicine.

Before that, I worked professionally as a graphic designer, spent my teenage years in the punk scene, founded an international artist collective called WAFA, and traveled internationally working on sustainable farms. Buddhist meditation has also been an integral part of my life over last 20 years.

My work blends vintage and contemporary imagery, exploring sexuality, beauty, and the female form through a juxtaposition of grit, chaos, and grunge. These contrasts create otherworldly spaces where order and disorder coexist and the boundaries of self and no-self blur.
